13 years ago, when I was just a wee lad, I had my first taste of Resident Evil gaming: my oldest brother's copy of Resident Evil 2 on the PS1. At the tender age of 8, I was literally transfixed by the sheer awesomeness of slaying zombies with usually little more than a handgun and about 30 bullets. Needless to say, I was hooked.
Fastforward to the present day, and I now own every major release (on non-handheld consoles) of Resident Evil, and Resident Evil 6 is just on the horizon. This year, for me, is a significant one. The year the world ends will be the year I play every major release, in in-game chronological order. But I need to make it challenging for myself, no?
So here is my personal quest: I am going to replay every Resident Evil game, and complete them, before Resident Evil 6's release date (20th of November 2012) in this order; RE0, RE:make, RE3, RE2, RE:CVX (which I never completed), RE4 and RE5.
Why? Because I can. Well, that and RedcapXIII's 13 years of Resident Evil gaming marks the release of Resident Evil 6... But mostly because I can.
I'll update occasionally, most likely when I'm stuck (so expect a lot of updates on my playthrough of CVX). But the start of this quest? May 8th, 14 years after the pal release of RE2 (dualshock edition), the first Resident Evil I played.
Wish me luck.
